International Insight: Registering to Vote in the US
Although we’re a UK based website, it is often interesting to see how elections around the world work, so when we found this fantastic video from the Phillip De Franco show, we couldn’t help but share!
The US midterms are taking place in November, where all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 39 (out of 100) seats in the Senate are being contested (plus some Governorships and local elections too!). Because the US is split into 52 seperate states, each with their own way of doing things, registering to vote can get a little confusing! So we’re thankful for this video for trying to make it a little easier!
In contrast to the US, the UK voter registration system is fairly simple. Just head to www.gov.uk/register-to-vote and fill in the form, it takes just five minutes! Not sure why you should vote? Take a look at our list of reasons.
